What SSID should I connect to?

The SSID is different for each facility. Please check with the facility if you are unsure what the SSID is.

How is this different from SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot?

This service can be used once a day for 30 consecutive minutes by anyone who registers their email address, regardless of whether they are a SoftBank customer or not.
*The number of times and length of use allowed may differ by facility.

What devices can I use the service with?

There are no restrictions for the type of device. As long as it supports IEEE802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (notebook PCs, Smartphones, Tablet devices, etc.) you can connect to this service. However the service is not guaranteed to work for some devices (mobile phones, portable gaming devices, etc.).
In addition, please use a web browser that supports SHA-2 SSL certificate and JavaScript.

 
4.
I would like to use the service free of restrictions (number of times and length of time allowed).

You can use SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot (EX) service, which offers unlimited use for 467 yen/day. The SSID is “SWS1day”. Please note that you can only purchase SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot (EX) access using a credit card.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Select “I forgot my password” on the login screen to reset your password.

 
6.
If I want to use the service twice, do I need to re-register the second time?

No, you only need to register once. To use the service a second time, enter your Login ID (email address) and password at the login screen and after a login verification message is displayed the re-connect screen will be shown. Press the “Connect Now” button to login once more and use the service.

 
7.
I have used the service before but what happens if I don’t use it again for a long period of time?

If you do not use the service within a 6-month period, your Login ID and password will be automatically deleted. To use the service again you will have to register once more.

 
8.
Can I use the same Login ID and password to use SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot (Free) at other locations?

Yes, but only if the SSID is the same. If the SSID is different you will need to register for that access point.

 
9.
Entering my Login ID and password every time is a hassle. Is there an easier way?

If you use the auto-complete feature of your browser, you can login without having to enter your Login ID and password.
For Android users, go to Settings > Browser Settings > Privacy and Security and you can turn the feature ON/OFF.
For iOS users, go to Settings > Safari > Passwords and AutoFill > Names and Passwords and you can turn the feature ON/OFF.
